Trauma is consistently identified as one of the most significant risk factors in developing a substance use disorder. Clients with substance use disorders may use alcohol and drugs as a way of “self-soothing” to minimize symptoms of trauma that feel overwhelming to them. Tenley focuses on healing the whole person, and provides comprehensive treatment for those healing from trauma, in addition to their addiction.
Tenley utilizes a number of modalities, including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure or desensitization work, development of coping skills, peer support groups, emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and yoga. At Tenley, our clinicians bring a level of compassion, empathy and mastery forward to address all of our client’s presenting issues in a safe and caring environment.
